Publishing our decisions guidance
Through publishing the decisions we make, the Commission aims to increase openness, transparency and levels of public trust and confidence in the charity sector. Additionally, publishing decisions gives individuals and organisations that are affected by a decision an opportunity to find out more about that decision and, if necessary, to provide comments or make representations.
There is no statutory requirement for the Commission to publish every decision it makes; however, the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 does set out certain circumstances where the Commission should publish its decisions or intentions. In addition, we intend to publish decisions where there is sufficient justification, it would be in the best interests of the charity or it is in the public interest.
Further information on the Commission’s approach to publishing decisions can be found in our Publishing our decisions guidance, which is available below. This explains how you can comment on decisions and how we will take your comments on board where we can.
Decisions are published and publicised in a variety of formats. Using the links below, you will be able to view current decisions open for comment, recent and archived decisions, and decision summary reports where applicable. Along with each decision that is open for comment, you will find an online form which you should use to submit your comments or representations.
