Participation strategy
Effective consultation and engagement with stakeholders is vital to the Commission’s work in shaping our policies and programmes and informing the work we do. This is because we are committed to ongoing dialogue with stakeholders in ways that suit their needs.
Further information on the Commission’s approach to consultation and engagement can be found in our Participation strategy:
The strategy enshrines our commitment to accountability and transparency in how we consult, setting out:
- what we mean by participation and consultation
- our objectives when we engage with stakeholders
- when we will consult
- the methods we will use
- the feedback we will provide.
We consulted with stakeholders in spring/summer 2014 to gather views on a draft version of the strategy and on their experience of Commission consultations. We used the feedback we received to develop the final version of the strategy, which is available above.
We are grateful for the ongoing participation of our stakeholders and, through embedding the principles set out in this strategy, we hope to continue to encourage open, honest and active participation.
