New SORP Committee

Recruitment is now open to a new expert SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) committee, which will make recommendations to the body authorised to organise the Charities SORP review, draft revisions and undertake the consultation process.

Membership of the SORP Committee will be drawn from all jurisdictions preparing accounts under UK- Irish Generally Accepted Accounting Practice which have a charity regulator, including Northern Ireland as well as other parts of the UK and Ireland.

The committee are hoping to recruit members from charities, charity umbrella groups, funding organisations, accountancy firms and academia. Applications from individuals from non-accounting backgrounds are also welcome.

Interviews will be held during November with new SORP Committee members notified on 27 November. The first meetings of the Committee will be on the afternoon of 11 December and morning of 6 February.
