New project to support charities with data protection
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), in partnership with NICVA, is launching a new initiative to support community and voluntary organisations in Northern Ireland with data protection.
The project aims to improve awareness and confidence around data protection practices, including the new Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
As part of the project, the ICO is inviting organisations to complete a short survey to help shape future support. The survey, which you can complete here, asks about:
- current awareness and confidence levels in data protection
- understanding of the new Data Act
- topics you’d like more guidance on
The survey is open to all registered charities, and taking part can help the ICO shape future resources, ensuring they are tailored to needs of the the sector.
