Have your say on the Commission’s strategic agenda
The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland is inviting the public and stakeholders to help shape its future direction.
As part of a public consultation launched this week, the Commission has published its draft Strategic plan 2026-29, which sets out how it will build on progress to date and continue developing as an enabling charity regulator.
The Commission is seeking feedback on all aspects of its strategic direction, including its vision, mission, values, key aims, priorities and intended outcomes. Your feedback will play a vital role, ensuring the final plan reflects the needs of the charity sector and those it serves.
Chief Charity Commissioner, Gerard McCurdy, commented: “The next three years will be a pivotal time for the Commission and for charities, with the statutory framework governing charity regulation to be updated by the Department for Communities.
“This means the Commission will also need to adapt its approach to charity regulation, to ensure it continues to meet the needs of charities and their beneficiaries.
“To help us do that, we need to hear from charities and those who support, use or interact with charities. Have we set the right priorities? What does an enabling regulator mean to you? Your insights will help shape a stronger, more supportive future for the sector and the communities they serve.”
The consultation will run for 12 weeks, from Monday 7 July to Friday 26 September 2025.
