Fundraising Regulator seeks Board Member for Northern Ireland

The new Fundraising Regulator, the independent regulator of charitable fundraising in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, is looking for a Board Member for Northern Ireland.

Established in January 2016, the Fundraising Regulator (FR) is responsible for self-regulating all types of charitable fundraising and has a remit to investigate and adjudicate against all charitable organisations which fundraise.

Chaired by Lord Michael Grade, it is governed by a 10 member Executive Board of Directors, drawn from both inside and outside the fundraising sector.

Earlier this month the FR advertised for its first Northern Ireland Board representative, a post which will initially be for three years with the possibility of subsequent re-appointment.

The essential criteria include an interest in, and understanding of, the voluntary sector and the political environment in Northern Ireland as well as an accomplished track record at an equivalent level in a substantial organisation.

They must also have ability to work in a complex and dynamic political environment, subject to Parliamentary, public and media scrutiny.

Further information, including a full job description and details on how to apply, is available on the FR website at: www.fundraisingregulator.org.uk/about/governance/board-member-northern-ireland/

The deadline for submissions is Friday 3 November 2017.
