The direct benefits flowing from Friends of Cedar Lodge is the enhancement of the health and educational opportunities for our beneficiaries by offering or aiding in the provision of necessary equipment, facilities, and recreational services within an educational context. These resources serve as a supplement to those offered by statutory

authorities. Additionally, we strive to build and strengthen the connections between the staff, parents, and the broader school community. We are dedicated to promoting activities that support the school and advance the education of our beneficiaries, including aspects of social, physical, and vocational training. These endeavors are directed by the Committee's decisions and are conducted in alignment with the laws governing charitable organisation. The effectiveness of our benefits is reflected in the projects we undertake to enhance the educational experience for our children and young people. We also systematically record feedback from parents, and the advantages of our efforts are further evidenced in the students' annual performance reports, highlighting their achievements within the school environment. The benefits are demonstrated by having an active organisation that engage with all parties involved with the school and through the increase in availability of and access to additional resources such as the equipment, school visits and transport There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The beneficiaries of the purposes are the children and young people of Cedar Lodge School and indirectly their carers and parents from the improvements to their child’s life. There may be incidental private benefit in the need to pay teachers and other staff necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes.

What your organisation does

The Friends of Cedar Lodge charity will carry out its purpose through a variety of activities and initiatives aimed at supporting the community and enhancing the well-being of individuals in need. We will operate, by organising events such as the Christmas Fair and Summer Fair. Raising funds for our school projects and initiatives. Engaging with

the local community to identify needs and provide support, whether through direct services or partnerships with other organisations. Mobilising volunteers to assist with various activities, running a stall at the school fair. Offering workshops and seminars to educate the community about the needs of our young people. Providing direct assistance to individuals and families, including emotional support, resources, and referrals to other services. Partnering with local businesses, government agencies, and other nonprofits to enhance the impact of their efforts.

Charitable purposes

The charity’s purposes are to support Cedar Lodge School in providing high-quality education for our young people, to promote the physical and mental health of our young people by providing or assisting in the provision of equipment, facilities, and recreational services in an educational environment. To foster more extended relationships between staff, parents and members of our community. Provide and assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of education, social welfare for recreation and other leisure time, with the objective of improving the quality of life for the parents/caregivers and the pupils of Cedar Lodge School. Promote all or any purposes for the benefit of children and young people of school age with special educational needs in the area, which now or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable under the law of Northern Ireland. Friends of Cedar Lodge will raise funds for the above purposes that align with the mission and values of Cedar Lodge and carry out charitable activities that further these aims. To encourage volunteerism and community engagement through various projects and events.
