The direct benefits of Learning Disability Pride Northern Ireland, are as follows: Platform for Celebration: Providing individuals with learning disabilities a space to celebrate their achievements and contributions, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment. Beneficiary Support: Offering support and recognition to people with learning

disabilities and their immediate families, friends, and carers, enhancing their sense of community and belonging. Event Success and Growth: Demonstrating the event's success through significant attendance growth (7000 in 2023) and positive verbal feedback, indicating widespread community support and impact. Advocacy and Awareness: Promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with learning disabilities, increasing awareness, acceptance, and empowerment, and challenging stigma and discrimination. Community Engagement: Engaging communities across Northern Ireland in embracing and supporting the event, fostering a more inclusive society. Education and Empowerment: Providing educational opportunities and advocating for individuals with learning disabilities, empowering them to thrive in a more inclusive environment. The benefits identified can be demonstrated through several methods: - Event Success and Growth - Verbal Feedback - Anecdotal Evidence - Community Engagement - Social Media and Media coverage - Advocacy and awareness - Empowerment and inclusion [Is there any harm arising from the purposes?] Learning Disability Pride Northern Ireland conduct a comprehensive risk assessment prior to the event to ensure no harm or potential harm can arise from this event. All volunteers are fully trained and equipped with the necessary skills to manage the event efficiently. Local Councils, PSNI and St. John's Ambulance are also in attendance at the event. [Who are the organisation’s beneficiaries?] First and foremost the beneficiaries are people with a learning disability. Orgainisations, parents and carers and the wider community will also be beneficiaries. There is some private benefit. -Volunteers will gain satisfaction, experience and skills. -performers will gain visibility which may mean the gain new opportunities. This is incidental and necessary to achieve the purposes

Learning disability pride is a movement and mindset aimed at promoting positive identity, acceptance, and empowerment among individuals with learning disabilities. Its purposes include: Self-Acceptance: Encouraging individuals with learning disabilities to embrace their unique abilities and challenges, fostering a positive self-image and

self-worth. Advocacy: Promoting awareness and understanding of learning disabilities, reducing stigma and discrimination, and advocating for equal rights and opportunities in education, employment, and society. Community Building: Creating a supportive community where individuals with learning disabilities can share experiences, resources, and support, fostering a sense of belonging and solidarity. Celebration of Diversity: Recognizing and celebrating the diverse ways people learn and process information, challenging traditional norms and valuing different perspectives and contributions. Empowerment: Encouraging individuals with learning disabilities to take control of their own lives, advocate for their needs, and pursue their goals and aspirations confidently.

1. Objectives To provide a platform for people with a learning disability to celebrate achievements and the contributions they make to society. Mission Learning Disability Pride in Northern Ireland is dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals with learning disabilities in Northern Ireland. Our mission is to promote awareness, acceptance, and empowerment, while challenging stigma and discrimination. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we strive to create a more inclusive society where individuals with learning disabilities can thrive.
