Public benefits
The direct benefits flowing from Aeon Community Arts are children from diverse backgrounds coming together to learn new art skills, share ideas and feelings, work collaboratively for festivals and parades etc.The children's mental health and wellbeing are at the centre of our activities. They grow in confidence, self esteem, identity and
resilience. The benefits of our art classes raise the profile of art in Lurgan, we promote community engagement through exhibitions, events and social media. Our dementia cafe and drop in sessions reduce social isolation, depression and apathy for older residents of the Craigavon area. The music, bingo and quizzes keep our participants focused and connected. Our families bereaved through suicide, individual and group sessions, will also benefit from having an outlet to express difficult emotions and create visual artwork to help with the healing process. The benefits can be seen in the number of children attending and the growing interest to facilitate more classes and feedback from parents. The benefits from art classes can be seen in the regular attendance at the classes. Numbers are continually growing. Our Facebook and Instagram followers are also increasing. Benefits are also seen in the verbal feedback from our participants in Wellbeing sessions and art classes e.g. " I'm meeting new people and feel I belong in this group." "I'm not going to the pub to drink as I'm coming here instead and getting motivated to make art". "I don't feel alone anymore - I can come into Aeon and chat to volunteers about my son's death and always feel welcome and like family." There is no harm arising from our purposes Our charities beneficiaries are the entire Lurgan/Craigavon community - all religions, nationalities (minority groups), old/young intergenerational workshops, LGBTQ community, Praxis Mental Health and AMH (Action Mental Health) participants. The families of our Art camps and Saturday clubs are seeing their children grow in skills, confidence and resilience. We are effectively empowering our community to have a growth mindset, develop their artistic talents, celebrate each others successes and trauma recovery. No private benefit from our purposes
