What your organisation does

Tempo Commuinity Association was established to operate St Mary’s Community Centre in Tempo as we seek to advance community development for the benefit of local residents. We wish to position ourselves as leaders within the community around social inclusion, health and well-being, and to ensure that opportunities are available for a wide range of

affordable, accessible, active and creative pursuits across all demographics. We also wish to work with the community and to bring them together to support each other and to contribute to the regeneration and social sustainability of Tempo as a rural settlement. Specifically, we seek to promote the mental, moral and physical development of the people through the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreational, resource or other leisure-time occupation, with the objective of improving their conditions of life. The local community will be provided with opportunities to engage in and be encouraged to make healthy lifestyle choices which will enable the inhabitants to enjoy long, healthy and active lives. We aim to organise social, educational and recreational activities that benefit our rural community. These include senior citizens, youth focused and inter-generational activities, all of which will reduce social isolation and alleviate mental health issues which are prevalent in this area.
