The direct benefits flowing from Purpose 1 “To provide a safe environment for members to participate in association football” is a safe and neutral environment for players and coaches to train and participant in recreational football. Participants benefit from healthier lifestyles, wellbeing, and social inclusion through sport. The direct benefits

which flow from this purpose includes improvement in physical and emotional health and well-being as a result of participation in football and other recreational activity. The direct benefits flowing from purpose 2 “To develop sport” by encouraging participation in sporting and recreational activities; providing members with suitable competition; assisting members to improve their personal sporting standards; organising football locally and providing equal opportunities for successful participation by all sections of the community. To promote the participation of the community in healthy recreational activities linked to sport specifically football. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose includes improvement in physical and emotional health and well-being as a result of participation in football and other recreational football. This includes raised esteem and confidence, improved aerobic capacity and development of physical skills. The benefits identified are demonstrated through the evaluation of our activities, programmes and services through players, club members and AGM meetings and with other stakeholders. This includes gathering feedback via a range of means such as 1-2-1 interviews, group discussions or focus groups, comment cards, surveys, and questionnaires around the benefits of activity provided. We also monitor participant numbers within sessions, growth in membership, retention into other programmes etc. to further reference the value and impact of our provision and to develop beneficial future services. There is no harm rising from our purposes. The beneficiaries of our purposes are people living in the Bangor area and across Mournes Ards and North Down Borough Council area. There is no private benefit from our purposes.

What your organisation does

Bangor Amateur Football Club is an amateur football club that is based at Ballyvarnet, Clandeboye Road, Bangor, County Down. The club was formed in 1969 to provide amateur football participation opportunities for local people. Our primary purposes are to: • provide recreational and sporting opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, and

backgrounds from the local community. • Be an inclusive amateur club drawing members and participants from all communities and religious and political backgrounds. • deliver football related activities that aim to teach values such as fair play, sportsmanship, commitment, and discipline while developing core football skills. • Use sport and physical activity to enhance healthy lifestyles for local people. • combat social exclusion, deprivation and inequality amongst local people in the community. • strive to increase partnership working and collaboration between Bangor Amateur FC, local residents, schools, and voluntary organisations so that further opportunities are created to participate in social, recreational, and educational activities. • Provide low cost, affordable and accessible sporting opportunities. We have 2 senior teams playing in the Northern Amateur Football League. Teams train regularly with qualified coaches and play matches on Saturdays and occasionally mid-week games in spring/summer. Our premier senior team play in Division 1B Amateur League and the Reserves play in Division 3 of the Northern Amateur League. We provide leisure activities for the residents of Bangor and the wider Borough council area of Ards and North Down. We facilitate community activities, training, and community events. We are an inclusive community club, drawing members and participants from all backgrounds. Through football related activities, we aim to teach values such as fair play, sportsmanship, and discipline as well as the core sporting skills. Sport and physical activity are important and can lead to healthy lifestyles.

Charitable purposes

The Object of the Club shall be: (a) To provide a safe environment for members to participate in amateur association football. (b) To develop amateur sport by: (i) Providing members with suitable competition (ii) Assisting members to improve their personal sporting standards. (iii) Providing equal opportunities for successful participation by all sections of the community regardless of their sex, religion, race or ability. (iv) Encouraging fair play at all times.
