Butterfly Buddies would provide funding for new educational resources, such as books, computers, or equipment. They would organise extracurricular activities that provide pupils with opportunities to learn new

skills and explore their interests. Improved support for children with SEN and their families. The organisation can provide financial assistance, counselling, or other support services to families of children with SEN. They can also advocate for the needs of these children with the school and other organisations. [How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated?] Butterfly Buddies would survey pupils to see how their relationships with staff and parents have changed since Butterfly Buddies started working with the school. Butterfly Buddies would track attainment and attendance rates to see if they have improved since Butterfly Buddies started providing additional support and resources. Butterfly Buddies could collect testimonials from families of children with SEN to hear about how the support has helped them. Butterfly Buddies could develop a case study about children with SEN who has made significant progress thanks to the Butterfly Buddies support. [Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes?] Butterfly Buddies would take the following steps to minimise the risk of harm from its activities. Establishing sound financial controls. The organisation will have a clear financial plan and will put in place controls to ensure that its funds are used effectively. The organisation will have clear policies and procedures in place to guide its operations. This will help to ensure that the organisation is operating in a transparent and accountable manner. The organisation will ensure that its staff are properly trained to deal with pupils and staff in a sensitive and respectful manner. The organisation will have a complaints procedure in place so that pupils, staff, and families can raise concerns if they feel that they have been mistreated. [Who are the charity's beneficiaries?] Butterfly Buddies benefits: pupils, staff, families, and the wider community. Including: additional support and resources to pupils, such as, counselling, or extracurricular activities. Support to staff, such as training, professional development, or networking opportunities. Support to families, such as counselling, parenting classes, or financial assistance. Support to the wider community, such as organising community events, providing educational resources, or advocating for social justice. The organisation's beneficiaries are all important, and the organisation's work is designed to benefit all of these groups. By working to improve the lives of pupils, staff, families, and the wider community, the organisation can make a positive difference in West Belfast, one of the highest areas of deprivation [Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? Is it incidental and necessary?] Any private benefit would be incidental and necessary e.g. Parents of pupils with SEN may benefit from the organisation's support services. For example, the organisation may provide counseling or support groups for parents of pupils with SEN. This could help the parents to cope with the challenges of raising a child with SEN and to feel more supported. Staff of the organisation may benefit from the organisation's training and professional development opportunities. This could help the staff to be more effective in their roles and to feel more supported. Volunteers of the organisation may benefit from the experience of volunteering and from the sense of satisfaction that comes from helping others. This could help the volunteers to feel more connected to their community and to feel more fulfilled.
