1. The advancement of religion: the weekly programme in local BB companies includes teaching of the Christian faith given by leaders, volunteers and special guests. This covers the programme themes of Get into the Bible, Get Learning and Get Involved. The BBNI scripture programme/ resources are age appropriate and children and young people can see
and hear that the purpose of BB is the advancement of Christ’s kingdom. Leaders pass their faith to the next generation and creative forms of teaching are used to ensure that this is done in an age-appropriate and meaningful way. 2. The advancement of education: at a local level where children and young people complete development programmes to achieve badges relevant to their stage. This covers all 6 of our programme themes through aspects of history, geography, arts and crafts, science, health and safety, home economics, design work, physical education and drama. It links to the Education Authority regional assessment of need and models effective youth work practice, providing children and young people an opportunity to have a voice. Our award structure recognises achievements at all levels, encouraging leadership and teamwork among our children and young people 1. religion lies in its provision to members of an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a safe, supported and unpressured environment. Faith development opportunities and pastoral support are provided in partnership with local churches, denominations and a range of faith-based organisations. Many BB members go on to be volunteer leaders, investing in the lives of young people through BB and beyond. 2. education lies in its ability to dovetail educational efforts with parents and schools in providing a place and a curriculum that complements the education and edification of each child. We don’t aim to replace school but we are pleased to assist and complement it by teaching children and young people on a range of topics in a manner and way unique to a voluntary organisation. Children and young people have opportunities to grow, develop and flourish and build friendships, making lifelong memories. No harm has been identified from the purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are children and young people aged between 4 and 18 who are living in Northern Ireland. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.
