What your organisation does

Our committee is made up of parents and staff of St Ronan's Primary & Nursery School LIsnaskea. We run various fundraising events throughout the year, from raffles to 'Make your own choices day' - Our version of 'Break the Rules Day'. in addition to this we also do a Scarecrow Trail each year. This is a community-based event. Local businesses

create and display scarecrows and children go on the trail to find them all. Along with children going with family, the children also do the trail as apart of a Shared Education Programme with pupils from another local school. We have also been fortunate in successfully securing grants that gave been an immens benefit to the pupils and children in our local community. One such grant, funded by the PHA, allowed us to purchase much needed sensory equipment for our schools SEN pupils along with enabling us to run a series of Sensory Education Workshops. These workshops were opened to everyone. Working closely with the Principal and Teachers at St Ronan's Primary and Nursery School Lisnaskea, we aim to raise funds for various items and services that will benefit the pupils and the school community. During the recent pandemic and lockdown, we secured funding to purchase tablets to allow pupils from low income families to continue their education via online home school learning. Post locadown the tablets continue to help pupils from low income families as we continue to lend them out via our Tablet Library Scheme. An important aspect of our role is help fundraise and secure grants for all the pupils in the school community. As well as this we promote and encourage participation and social inclusivity as well as the schools shared education programme. We communicate with the parent body on a regular basis through various mediums and liaise between the school and parental body on an informal basis.
