Public benefits
Whilst a public benefit statement has been provided the Commission has relied on other evidence to satisfy itself that the public benefit requirement has been met. Genesis will provide short to long term social and affordable housing and accommodation for homeless persons, those requiring emergency shelter, retirement ( social housing ) for over
65's. And disabled housing for families who are within the support system. Genesis will also provide short term accommodation for vulnerable youth within the supporting government departments. Housing Executive data shows current need for social housing is 44426 units. Genesis will contribute to reducing that number with social housing development. Genesis will provide affordable social housing throughout NI and ROI. And will provide employment whilst doing so. Genesis will work with all relevant government agencies, community groups and charities for the betterment of all communities to develop social housing in their communities and reduce the levels of homelessness in NI
