Creating a sense of belonging and a shared common purpose for people of Ghanaian descent living in Northern Ireland Attendance at our events exceeds 100 people. What your organisation does

Holds regular meetings for people of Ghanaian origin, descent or affiliation to Ghana. As described in our constitution, all such persons qualify for membership Holds annual events to celebrate Ghanaian holidays such as Independence Day or Republic day, and on such occasions we showcase Ghanaian culture with traditional drumming dancing, Ghanaian

music and Ghanaian food. Executives of the Association maintain a WhatsApp group for dissemination of information and news events related to Ghana, and to give a voice to Ghanaians to share their views and discuss events in Ghana and local events in Northern Ireland that have an impact on Ghanaians The WhatsApp forum and Facebook page provide an avenue for Ghanaian businesses to offer products that may be of particular interest to Ghanaians or their dependants living in Ghana. Maintain a link with the Ghana High Commission to provide services and to reach out to Ghanaians livingin Northern Ireland. One such event was the Biometric Registration for Ghanaian passports Support individual Ghanaians and Ghanaian groups - executives attended and rallied support for Lady Bishop's consecration, and supported Ghanaian football team in EMSONI 2022 Community Football Competition (stated in annual report.

Charitable purposes

The association is formed to: (i) Promote the welfare of all Ghanaian Citizens living in Northern Ireland both on a temporary and permanent basis. (ii) Increase awareness of the presence and participation of members of the Ghanaian Community in Northern Ireland. (iii) Preserve and protect the Ghanaian identity and heritage through dialogue and Education, cultural awareness programs, exchange programs, and (iv) Advocate for access/right to quality public services for all Ghanaian Citizens living in Northern Ireland. (v) Seek and promote educational opportunities for our community. (vi) Provide support and advice to all members of the community on issues of Citizenship, immigration, travel, healthcare, housing and liaise with relevant statutory authorities for support to ensure the effective delivery of such services as may be under their remit. (vii) Promote the physical and mental wellbeing of our community by promoting Health and facilitating recreation and leisure activities for our community. (viii) Provide support, information and advice to the unemployed and improve level of employability through Education and training of people of employable age within our community
