The benefits are improved knowledge and skills through attendance at courses, and community engagement in health-based activities. Participants engaging in the women’s group support/services include amongst others improvement of life opportunities and enhancement of the quality of lives through early interventions, older women will retain
independence, lead healthier lifestyles and will have a greater resilience through the knowledge and skills learned, women will be more empowered and will feel more able and confident to ask for help. Reduced inequalities in health and access to health services. Improved mental, physical and emotional health. People will have a sense of belonging, will not feel isolated and will be involved in greater social engagement/interaction. These benefits will be measured through evaluation of training events and attendance at social occasions. Feedback from members and visitors will also be sought. There is no harm or possibility of harm from any intended activities. The main beneficiaries are the women who reside in Warrenpoint and the surrounding area. Additional beneficiaries are invited groups and those who attend visitor evenings/special events. Any private benefit will be incidental. This may arise in the form of training undertaken to achieve the group’s objective, as these skills may be transferable in other environments. The benefits will be an improvement in health through recreational activities organised and delivered in a safe and secure environment. These benefits will be measured through feedback from attendees. There is no harm or possibility of harm from any intended activities. The main beneficiaries are the women who reside in Warrenpoint. Additional beneficiaries are those from further afield who support the programmes offered by the group. Women aged 50+ residing in Warrenpoint or surrounding rural areas Any private benefit will be incidental. This may arise in the form of knowledge gains to achieve the group’s objective, as these skills may be transferable in alternative settings

Warrenpoint Women’s Group seeks to promote a sense of wellbeing to women living in the local area. It will give those who live in this town and surrounding rural areas, the opportunity to meet with people in a safe environment close to their home. The group encourages women to be more active in their community and aim to raise awareness of issues
that may affect their everyday life. These include learning new skills, enhancing education and promoting healthier lifestyles. These goals will be achieved by regular meetings and scheduled activities.
