Public benefits
The direct benefits flowing from our purpose include attendance at meetings and services which we hold where the bible is taught, we engage in prayer, have fellowship with each other, break bread together and also engage in evangelism to share the gospel with others. The direct benefits will result in a greater understanding of the Christians
beliefs set out in the bible and resulting in salvation through faith in Christ and the spiritual development of believers. We provide bible teaching to our children and young people and encourage them to use and develop their gifts, in our own church and in teams that go to other churches. We also provide prayerful and financial support to the other departments of the Association of Baptist Churches - College, Women, Youth, Missions, as well as other like minded organisations. The benefits are displayed by the faithfulness of members and others who attend the various church services, and the prayerful and financial support that is provided to maintain and advance the work of the church in promoting the gospel. People frequently comment on the benefit they have received from the teaching, care and fellowship provided and people watching on-line who have no formal connection to the church who comment positively on the benefits they receive from the services. Furthermore the benefits are demonstrated by the growth in faith of those who attend, both young and old, and the support and comfort received by those who are unwell or elderly both through visitation and prayer. The trustees are satisfied that no harm will be caused to any individual who attends the church or to members of the wider community, as we carry out the purpose of our charity. The beneficiaries include the members of the church as well as those who attend regularly and those who come along to any of the services or events that are open to the general public and wider community. The pastor, is a trustee, and he is an employee of the church. He receives a salary and expenses which are essential to the church in providing the teaching, pastoral support and administrative duties to fulfil our stated purpose.
