Rescue Cats NI

Registered

Charity no. 109200 Date registered. 22/02/2023

Public benefits

There are numerous direct benefits provided to the public of all areas of Northern Ireland, including reducing the population of stray/unwanted cats and kittens, being a refuge for people to surrender their cats due to various reasons including a change in circumstances or financial constraints. Where an elderly/sick person has passed away or had

to go into hospital, we can take their cat and rehome it. We take in hundreds of stray cats per year. If old enough, they are all neutered before rehoming. This will ultimately reduce the number of potential cats roaming. One female cat can produce 2/3 litters per year which could result in as many 21 cats. They in turn can mate at the age of 4 months producing even more cats. One cat can produce between 100 and 200 cats in her lifetime and the numbers become phenomenal when her young all breed. We also take in injured cats that have been found. They receive immediate veterinary attention thus alleviating their suffering. We always try to reunite lost cats and will advertise etc. We can relieve a lot of stress for families that need to surrender a cat. We can also bring a lot of happiness to new families wanting to adopt a cat or kitten. There is absolutely no harm arising from anything we do. The beneficiaries are always members of the public either by taking in cats they have found or ones that have been surrendered. We also rehome cats and kittens to loving homes. We provide advice and assistance. In the past we have offered cat food/litter to families that are struggling to feed their pets. The benefits are endless. The private benefit to the trustees and volunteers is the feeling of goodwill and help to innocent, helpless cats and kittens. It is a lifestyle that doesn't suit everyone. My life is dedicated to this rescue.
