Public benefits

The direct benefits include reduced social isolation, improved health and wellbeing and promoting active citizenship. Futhermore the direct benefits from this purpose include promotion of programmes, events and services available for local people as information will be accessible through our social media and word of mouth. The benefits can be

demonstrated by the delivery and participation of the programmes and events within the community. Additionally by providing a safe space where local residents are welcomed and listened to. The community hub is for the community, and we encourage everyone in the community to participate in programmes and activities. We provide volunteers with opportunities to engage with the community and learn new skills through programme delivery and external training. Whiteabbey Community Group also works to reduce local youth ASB by providing a safe place for young people to socialise and learn at youth clubs and community events. We continually monitor our programmes and activities that we deliver for attendance numbers and feedback There is no harm from any of the purposes. The Beneficaries are from the Whiteabbey area and its environs. Our volunteers can avail of training available which will enable them to organise, plan and deliver programmes within our community. The benefits would be that the volunteers will receive certificates which may help them in their own personal development. This is an incidental benefit.

What your organisation does

Whiteaabbey Community Group aims to provide residents of the Whiteabbey area and its environs with information, activities and services to improve their quality of life. The services provided include: social programmes for women and men, youth clubs and programmes for local young people, engagament programmes for new tenants to the area and

development and delivery of programmes, activities and information sessions for the fibro and wellbeing group. As well as organising communtiy events, health events and arranging the delivery of training programmes, Whiteabbey Community Group also enagages with a range of partners to support effect delivery of services and programmes in the area.

Charitable purposes

The group is established for the advancment of citizenship and community developmnet and for the public benefit of the inhabitants of the Whiteabbey area and its environs (hereinafter referred to as the area of benefit) without distinction of age, sex, race, political religious or other opinion. This will be achieved through the delivery of positive community events, provision of voluntary opportunities and through regular contact meetings with relevant statutory and voluntary bodies to approve upon the quality of life for the local people.
