Public benefits
[What are the direct benefits flowing from your organisation's purposes?] The re-establishment in the minds of the people of all ages the massively rich heritage which they can find in their local area,so that they will have an abiding pride in their own culture and dismiss the continual negative images which bedevilled the area in both the
ancient and recent past. [How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated?] By the positive participation of the people in arts and cultural projects;historical awareness bringing an appreciation of identity being manifested in a new fondness for their native place and the general mindfulness being uplifted as a result. Absolutely no harm arises from any of these purposes. The beneficiaries are the people of the area, the youth growing up in a changed atmosphere and of the South Armagh diaspora who will be encouraged to access their roots. The general public who will have access to free local and national history lectures and talks from invited guests. The most obvious private benefit is the increase in tourist numbers. A large section of this tourist increase is the desire of the diaspora to visit because of the booming interest in genealogical research. This will lead to a big incidental benefit to Tí Chulainn Cultural Activity Centre, local hotels and guest houses and tourist sites.
