The direct benefits flowing from the purpose includes 1 bringing isolated older men together to form friendships 2 introduce taster sessions of a variety of activities so that men with common interests can link up and cement relationships 3 bringing together men who have had similar experiences where they can exchange methods of adjusting their
life situations to reconcile their problems 4 directing men to public health services and voluntary health services 5 befriending and listening as a soundboard 6 accepting their current status and developing a plan to move forward with their lives 7 reintegrating men with society 8 provision of health information 9 education 10 personal fitness 11 provision of a men's service gap that is not catered for through Men's Sheds (not all men want to do DIY or play Pool etc. which are predominant activities at Men's Sheds ) 12 providing a hot meal when possible as many isolated men do not have cooking skills. Generally MU observe for changes in the mens' mental attitudes and physical condition. There is no harm The beneficiaries are all Men 50+ who live in the greater Belfast zone There is no private benefit.
