The direct benefits that flow from Melvin Enterprises Limited purposes are that support is provided and facilities developed that assist with creation of job opportunities, enterprise development and social activities for the benefit of the residents of Garrison village and the wider surrounding area which lead to reduction in unemployment and

subsequent improvements in health and well-being and better quality of life for beneficiaries. The benefits of Melvin Enterprises Limited activities are evidenced by measurement of facilities provided, usage of these facilities and numbers of persons receiving support. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Melvin Enterprises Limited. The beneficiaries of Melvin Enterprises Limited are persons living within Garrison village, the wider surrounding area, and visitors to the area. The only private benefit flowing from the company’s purposes are that Melvin Enterprises Limited trustees can participate in all activities and use the facilities provided, this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all eligible members of the community can potentially avail of these and benefit.

What your organisation does

Melvin Enterprises Limited was established in 1991 and our company’s main achievement has been the securing of sites and funding to develop a range of facilities, within the village of Garrison, these include: The Gillaroo Centre which contains a Main Hall that can accommodate up to 250 persons, enabling the facility to be used for provision of

educational training courses, meetings, concerts, conferences, exhibitions, youth activities, recreational and social activities open to everyone in the community with the aim of reducing social isolation in this rural area of West Fermanagh; Garrison Day Centre, a purpose-built facility that is used by Lakeland Community Care Limited to provide local residents with Day Care and activity schemes, a wide range of support services, as well as interesting and engaging social activities; Enterprises Units that are leased out for the operation of businesses, current tenants include a Restaurant and Hairdressers. Melvin Enterprise s Limited collaborate with and support a range of voluntary and community organisations and statutory authorities, to further our purposes and maximise benefits for the residents of Garrison village and wider surrounding area.

Charitable purposes

The charity's objects ('Objects') are specifically restricted to the following: The objects of the Charity shall be the promotion for the public benefit of rural regeneration in Garrison and surrounding area (the "area of benefit"), by all or any of the following means: a. the promotion of new and existing bsinesses, social enterprises, and charities to stimulate economic growth and service delivery, through the provision of workspace, buildings and /or land for use on favourable terms; b. the provision of assistance in the provision of recreational facilities for the public at large and / or those who, by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty, or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities; For the avoidance of doubt, the system of law governing the articles of association of the charity is the law of Northern Ireland.
