Public benefits
The Trustees are satisfied that Ulster Hockey’s objectives satisfy the public benefit requirement. The direct benefits that flow from the objects include greater opportunities for participation, fun and enjoyment, health benefits, self-esteem, career development, communication skills, fitness development, meeting like-minded people, stress
reduction and skill development. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from members and regular evaluation of our services both internally and externally. Hockey is a sporting activity but risks and harm can be mitigated by trained coaches and leaders following NGB guidelines and procedures. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Ulster who are members of Ulster Hockey (or a member of any of the affiliated clubs, schools, colleges or universities which are members of Ulster Hockey); stakeholders in hockey activity and development; and all participants of a hockey activity. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.
