Raising awareness of PCOS will lead to earlier opportunities for diagnosis, prevention of long term complications and better support for people with PCOS. This can be demonstrated in the amount of people engaging with us as there is currently no charity for PCOS in Ireland. General awareness among the public should also increase. There is no

potential for harm as we are solely providing information that is general. No medical advice is given. Women and people with PCOS are the main beneficiaries but the general public at large will also benefit by understanding more about PCOS through our work. There are no private benefits flowing from the purpose.

What your organisation does

PCOS Vitality will operate a peer support group online and use social media campaigns to raise awareness of PCOS. This will include the publication of evidence based information leaflets to the public and live events with experts in this area.

Charitable purposes

The advancement of health in relation to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) which is a lifelong condition which affects gynaecology, metabolism and mental health. Our purpose is to promote health through education, evidence-based information and support (not medical advice) via raising awareness of PCOS via social media platforms and via an online peer support group with current membership of 480 people. Awareness and education will include the publication of leaflets and printed materials for women and people with PCOS. The system of law governing the constitution of the charity is the law of Northern Ireland.
