Public benefits
The direct benefits flowing from purpose 1 is improved educational outcomes for all pupils by stronger liaison and communication between staff, parents and others associated with the PTA. Effective parental engagement leads to increased understanding and involvement in education. The direct benefit flowing from purpose 2 is the provision of
additional resources to advance education, which would not be provided from direct school funding. These benefits are demonstrated by the high level of attendance at events and the participation of pupils, parents, staff and community. Pupils have increased access to resources, events and activities and links with the local community. There is no harm arising from either of the purposes. The charity's beneficiares are the children of Ballyholme Primary School. Trustees (PTA members) are usually also parents of children attending the school and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit it provided to all beneficiaries.
