Public benefits

The benefits flowing from the purpose of Warrenpoint Men's Shed to advance the health and well being of men in Warrenpoint and the surrounding local area are:- -Men of all ages have a safe and comfortable venue- ie a large dedicated building, for their exclusive use that they can visit at convenient times where they can meet other men. -In this

building meTn have the opportunity to chat and connect with other men in a relaxed environment about health and personal issues that they may not be able to discuss elsewhere ,thereby opening up effective lines of communication and expression which will contribute to their mental health and help develope positive attitudes and outlooks. -The men have the opportunity to take part in group and/ or individual projects which involves and benefits the local community- eg wood working projects such as making garden furniture, chairs, benches and floral planters . This physical activity is very beneficial to the men in that it developes and promotes their physical health and mobility- giving every member an incentive to attend regularly and a sense of inclusion and achievement as they see projects progress from inception to completion. - The men are able to learn new skills and then apply them to their individual or group projects giving the benefit of social inclusion and capacity building . This greatly reduces feelings of social isolation and its associated health problems for men thereby lowering the demand for other social care and health services among men in the area which creates meaningful and measurable benefits for the men's families and the local community. [How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated?] By the regular attendance , enthusiasm and participation of the members . By the good health, sense of well being and positive mental attitude experienced by the members. [Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes?] No [Who are the charity's beneficiaries?] Men from Warrenpoint and local area in age range- 18 years old and upwards.
