Public benefits
The direct benefits flowing from the purpose of McCullaghs ABC is that we are educating our young members of the importance of being healthy and their mental wellbeing through different programmes on mental health nutrition and social well-being. Members are learning the sport of amateur boxing and aim to take part in competitions that are
available if they wish to. The coming together of people from different communities is another direct benefit that flows from the purpose of the club bringing together both sides of our communities and other ethnic minorities and people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the areas surrounding our club. We provide different programmes on the importance of keeping our mind and bodies healthy through educations with other groups on nutrition, mental health and other factors like addiction. The club is providing a safe, shared space for people to engage in the learning and sport of boxing. There is a reduced risk of anti-social behaviour of the members who attend our club and by creating positive thinking in our members it creates a positive impact on the confidence of all members. As the club provides training in boxing, it is a contact sport so some injuries may arise from training. All safety gear is provided for members to wear if engaging in contact and guidance is provided also. The beneficiaries are the children and adults who attend the club from the surrounding areas. We are a cross community club who aims to bring in members from all sections of the community from all sections of the many different communities. Parents and the wider community also benefit from using the club. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purpose.

We are a cross community amateur boxing club situated in Dunmurry, Belfast providing training 6 days a week for the advancement of amateur boxing with the junior class operating for boys and girl aged 9 and up three times a week. The senior amateur class also operates three times a week aged 15 and up. The club runs a fitness class for ladies and
men three times a week to provide training for those who do not want to engage in contact sport. As well as providing fitness classes for everyone and learning a new sport we try to educate everyone on the importance of nutrition, healthy eating and looking after our mind. We run classes and invite groups in to educate our kids on the importance of looking after themselves and others. We welcome everyone from all communities and stress the importance of being all inclusive.
