Public benefits
The direct benefits are a development of moral values held as people are taught through engagement in activities undertaken. A growing commitment to the church generally. An awareness of the work of the church internationally and an awareness of needs beyond the affluence of our own society. Benefits can be demonstrated through the changing
attitudes of people towards the church locally and internationally with a deeper understanding of issues facing the church internationally and that understanding changing how we live with regard to the resources we waste daily. There is no harm, increased christian values improve moral values that benefits all of society. Increasing awareness of the global church provides an understanding of other cultures around the world. The beneficiaries are anyone interested in exploring the christian faith. Most likely to be those attending church services, the charity is invited to speak at, but open to everyone. As beneficiaries are anyone hearing the talks there is no private benefit.

SOMA seeks to raise awareness and foster renewal locally in churches through teaching and preaching from the bible, and to provide opportunity for people to travel internationally and experience renewal in a different context within the Anglican communion worldwide that will both bring about renewal in that place and encourage and renew those on
the team to further foster a sense of church renewal upon their return to their home church setting.
