Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include raising awareness of age appropriate play based learning among parents/carers and the provision of early education for children under the statutory school age in Lisburn and surrounding areas. Parents and families reap the benefits in a widely ranging demographic area knowing their children are

increasing health, physical and mental well-being, boosting their self-confidence, social interaction, independence and resilience. The Playgroup’s purpose will benefit the public by providing play based learning environments in which children can learn, develop and achieve in each of the 6 areas of the Early Years/CEA Guidance of the Pre-School curriculum. Through these experiences each child will have opportunities to reach their full potential. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from parents/carers, Early Years advisors and regular evaluation of the service by Social Services and HSC Trusts through annual Inspections of the Minimum Standards. The purpose does not lead to any harm as the Playgroup takes extensive steps to ensure that risk assessments are carried out fully and that robust Policies and Procedures are in place and adhered to. The beneficiaries of the purpose are children under the statutory school age living in Lisburn and the surrounding areas and parents/carer irrespective of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identify, political or religious opinion. A private benefit to staff does arise in the form of salaries and training received. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure that high standards of care are achieved in providing safe and satisfying provision and in promoting the preservation of health of the beneficiaries.
