The creation of employment and training opportunities in an economically and socially deprived area and consequently a reduction in poverty for those in financial need. Increased knowledge about setting up and running social enterprises and increased levels of skill of those employed. Increased effectiveness of social enterprises and local voluntary and community groups due to the availability of affordable work and office space, and meeting and training rooms. Every member of the Company undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Company, in the event of the same being wound up while he is a member, or within one year after he ceases to be a member, for payment of the debts and liabilities of the Company contracted before he ceases to be a member, and of the costs, charges and expenses of winding up, and for the adjustment of the rights of the contributories among themselves, such amounts as may be required not exceeding £1.00. The beneficiaries of Donegall Pass Community Enterprise are residents living within target areas (Donegall Pass) who face deprivation as a result of lack of opportunities and investment in community. Those groups most at risk and targeted include children and young people, women and older people. The new community hub will have benefits for the local community in terms of provision of advice and information for residents, reinvestment of profits back into community, training for young people and long term unemployed and opportunities for local employment within the community hub. No The income and property of the Company shall be applied solely towards the promotion of its objects as set forth in clause 40 of the Articles of Association and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred, directly or indirectly, by way of dividend, bonus or otherwise howsoever by way of profit, to members of the Company and no Director shall be appointed to any office of the Company paid by salary or fees, or receive any remuneration or other benefit in money or money’s worth from the Company provided that nothing herein shall prevent any payment in good faith by the Company;

Charitable purposes

The advancement of community development by contributing to the regeneration of the Donegall Pass area through the development and delivery of a good relations community hub hosting social enterprise initiatives, community facilities and other services in order to meet the needs of the local community, improve connectivity and attract visitors to the area. The relief of those in need due to poverty or lack of housing by partnering with housing associations to develop affordable housing for those in need and use of a community hub to address the low income and poor employment opportunities by the creation of jobs, entrepreneurship, training and educational opportunities, child care provision, access to family support services, welfare and employment rights advice and debt counselling to those within the Donegall Pass area. The promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity in the Donegall Pass area in order to reduce levels of racial discrimination and antisocial behaviour leading to enhanced pride and confidence within the area improving perceptions / opinions by building community capacity and engagement to manage a community space where people feel valued and where their opinions are heard and taken into consideration, regardless of community identities.
