Public benefits

The direct benefit that flows from purpose 1 include: Inviting sports clubs across Northern Ireland to sign up to our charter which will allow them to promote mental health and wellbeing information to all members. Sports clubs offering a wellbeing station at club premises offering support and signposting to all members regarding mental health

and wellbeing guidance. Sports club members having the opportunity to access support networks via third parties available to them for mental health and wellbeing advice that they would not normally have access to via such sports clubs. Using social media platforms to promote events and their outcomes. The benefits identified within purpose 1 can be demonstrated by tracking how many clubs sign up to our charter, how many mental health/wellbeing stations are set up at clubs, how many enquiries we pass on to third parties and recording attendance at awareness campaigns. We can also track online engagement with our social media. The direct benefit that flows from purpose 2 include: Sports clubs will be asked to develop a mental health and wellbeing policy within their clubs, ensuring that there is clear policies and process, making it easier for members to access support. Organising awareness campaigns with the help of third party organisations that involve participation from sports club members. Sports clubs will have the chance to receive training from profession third parties to help understand the issues surrounding mental health issues and how to deal with club members who may be experiencing issues. The benefits identified within purpose 2 can be demonstrated by feedback from clubs regarding training and their policies as well as tracking the participation levels of training opportunities. Clubs will also have to have written evidence of mental health/wellbeing policies. A key demonstration of benefits overall will be tracking engagement with awareness campaigns and training as well as interaction on social media platforms. No harm has been identified as flowing from our purposes but any potential harm will be risk assessed by the organisation. The beneficiaries are the club members. There is no private benefit.
