What your organisation does

The organisation primarily carries out its purposes by supporting work among victims of human trafficking and exploitation, and those who are at risk of the same. This work is carried out by funding trusted partner organisations and includes rescuing women from positions of exploitation, providing refuge and essential food and hygiene supplies in

times of need, offering training in new skills with the goal of providing alternative forms of employment, and providing education to raise awareness of the dangers of exploitation. The funds for the work are raised through the retail of jewellery made by beneficiaries, with sales made both in person and online. Other fundraising efforts such as project specific appeals are also undertaken to support such work, primarily through online channels such as emails and social media. The organisation also carries out its purposes by raising awareness of human rights issues through speaking engagements, primarily but not limited to speaking at church services and other related meetings. Further opportunities for raising awareness include jewellery making classes hosted by the organisation into which an educational element is also incorporated, educating those making the jewellery about systems of exploitation, and vulnerability among poorer communities in Asia, and opportunities to change lives through the provision of both training and safe and dignified work .
