Public benefits

The direct benefits will be: the provision of facilities for various amateur sports including rugby tennis bowls cricket mens and womens' hockey bridge badminton gym, an improvement in physical fitness and mental health through the involvement in sporting activities for those participating in sports and other activities; an improvement in

wellbeing and leaning new skill through the cultural activities such as the drama club The Clarence Players enhancing community involvement by bringing together people to meet with others in a social setting These benefits can be demonstrated by: the numbers of people participating in the sporting activities and cultural and the outcomes and impact of the participation on their mental and physical health by building a community in the local area and further afield around the sporting activities and cultural activities being undertaken, by enabling members and others to utilise the facilities for the benefit of the community by celebrations of life events such as family parties and to undertake sporting activities and conference/training sessions in the premises through room hire to other organisations or charities There is no harm arising from the purposes. The beneficiaries are: young people and children. Any member of the public who applies and is accepted to join a sporting section. There is no private benefit arising from the purposes.

Charitable purposes

3.1 The objects of the Charity: 3.1.1 To apply its premises and resources from time to time to enable adults, young people and children to engage in:- (a) amateur sports; (b) the arts, culture, heritage or science; (c) health and wellbeing; (d) citizenship and community development; at all times for the public benefit. 3.2 Nothing in these Articles shall authorise an application of the Charity’s property for purposes that are not charitable in accordance with section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
