Public benefits

The public benefits arising from our purposes are: a) The spiritual growth and deeper Christian experience of those who attend our Meetings for Worship and other events that we organise to support the spiritual development of the Meeting and its members and attenders. o These benefits are evidenced through the Meetings for Worship, the

attendance of members, attenders and visitors at those Meetings and by the appointment of Overseers to care for the pastoral needs of all those in our Meetings for Worship and to support Elders, appointed by Quarterly Meeting, to nurture the spiritual growth of the Meeting. o The beneficiaries are all those who attend our regular Sunday morning Meetings for Worship and Sunday schools which are open to all members of the public and other events that we organise. b) Improvement in the circumstances of individuals and groups whom we support through practical action with charities such as Quaker Service which works with prisoners and their families and mothers and teenagers living in disadvantaged areas of Belfast. o These benefits are evidenced through the donations that we make to charities working on the relief of suffering, by the time spent by our members in volunteering and taking part in activities that provide relief to those who are suffering from disadvantage and the positive evaluations of these activities. o The beneficiaries of this purpose are the individuals and groups who benefit from the activities that we engage in. c) Greater public awareness and understanding of a Quaker approach to peacebuilding, sustainability, social action, education, spiritual growth and other concerns that we support financially and practically. o These benefits are evidenced through the events that we support and the donations that we make to promote awareness and understanding of a Quaker approach to these issues. o The beneficiaries of those who attend these events and who benefit from donations that we make. d) Meeting of the spiritual and physical needs of individuals in our Meetings, with assistance to those in need being provided by legacy funds that have been left to the Monthly Meeting. o These benefits are evidenced through spiritual growth of our Meetings and improved circumstances for those in need within our Meetings o The beneficiaries of this purpose are members and attenders of our Meetings The above purposes do not lead to any harm. There are no private benefits arising from the above purposes except for the possible private benefit to trustees, who would benefit as any other beneficiary, from legacy funds left for distribution for those in need.
