... [more] [less]What your organisation does
Kidogo Kids works in conjunction with local organisations, in order to identify where the key needs are within the community. Since we started, we have launched several programmes in order to benefit disadvantaged children as well as the local community. We have set up a feeding programme to provide food for the most vulnerable children in a slum
area, ensuring that they are getting proper nutrition and regular meals. We have launched a reading programme, a stationary programme and various other school related initiatives, in order to provide a better education as well as extracurricular activities for disadvantaged children in a slum school and a children’s home. We are also working with local businesses to provide work experience and further training for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We have set up various health and sanitation initiatives in a slum area. We provide health insurance for a baby home and have enabled access to healthcare for the most disadvantaged children in the community. We provide food, bedding, clothing, water and other basic needs where necessary. We are currently working with a baby home, children’s homes and in a slum community.
