Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from pupose 1 include the provision of educational events, social and recreational events such as Rostrevor Literary Festival, Pumpkin Fest, Christmas Pageant, and training of volunteers both in-house and by external bodies. The direct benefits flowing from pupose 2 include volunteers from the Community Association

manage and supervise events. The success of these events brings a positive feeling of well-being to the local community. When local people see members of the Community Association organising and managing the event, combined with this positive feeling of well-being, a sense of civic pride develops encouraging them to participate in future community based activities. This will further empower KCA to undertake more projects in the future. The direct benefits flowing from pupose 3 include a feeling of joint ownership and fellowship within the community due to the range of events and activities undertaken by the community. I addition the forerun for identifying and discussing issues and areas of concern contribute to social welfare and a sense of well being. The direct benefits flowing from pupose 4 include any changes and additions made within the community by the local council or other statutory body, because of representations from KCA, are both appropriate and relevant The benefits from purpose 1 are demonstrated by feedback from participants and the level of uptake. The benefits from purpose 2 are demonstrated by increased activity from other community groups and individuals taking part and assisting in KCA run activities. This evidence is measured by the feedback received from those participants and local residents. The benefits from purpose 3 are demonstrated by feedback from participants, the annual incremental increase in the participation, enjoyment and satisfaction of both those participating and the volunteers delivering events. Our Facebook page, Newsletters and coverage in the local newspapers also provide evidence of the continuous activities and programmes we facilitate. The benefits from purpose 4 are demonstrated by the continued and ongoing generation of ideas and project proposals for the improvement of facilities within the community now stated in the KCA 2020 list of aims. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The beneficiaries are all members of the local community including those volunteers who manage the charity and those who participate in the organisation of activities and events.
