Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from the organisations purposes are: - Welcoming and neutral space for all members of the local community, provides an inclusive shared community benefit. - Shared space for many community groups at a low cost to enable additional activities to benefit the artistic growth, health and well being of the local community.

Activities which promote arts, provide recreation, social interaction and promote good mental health including book club, art classes, meditation events, counseling sessions, music, choir, group therapy, holistic events, community theatre, dance and recreation, activities for elderly population prove to enhance well being and self esteem. Prevention of loneliness, isolation and self worth. - events and clubs held in the venue are available to all age groups and income groups and are accessible for those living with disabilities - The voluntary work available to all adults of age and abilities, increases self esteem and sense of purpose and an increase in employment prospects for many volunteers. - As well as our own activities, a wide range of groups and societies also use the space on a regular basis. On average five hundred users attend the venue in a month. with up to a thousand at other times. Christmas, Carnival,Walk of Hope,etc. - Our volunteers benefit from work experience which has enabled many of them to move on to gainful employment. -The private rooms used for mental health counseling are at no cost to the beneficiaries to bridge the gap in provision by the health service. These benefits can be demonstrated by: - good attendance across all activities from all sections of the community demonstrate a need for the facility and it's activities. Carnival attendance estimated at 10,000. Feedback from benecficiaries is very positive, while some activities have waiting list, e.g. Monday mindfullnses . - We well supported by the local community and local business people. - Other groups using the venue as their base in preference to publicly owned spaces. There is no harm flowing from the organisations purposes: We carefully monitor our activities for to avert the possibity of negative outcomes. The organisations beneficiaries are: All the wider public in general Mid ulster area. The only private benefit flowing from the organisations purposes is: Part-time paid employees &the payment of rent to landlords, which is necessary to the run/administer activities, there are no other outside private beneficiaries or interests.

What your organisation does

WE PROVIDE A SAFE WELCOME SHARED SPACE, WHEREIN WE CAN OFFER ALL IN OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORT, FACILITIES, SERVICES AND PROGRAMMES AND EVENTS. THESE INCLUDE ADVICE, COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR MENTAL HEALTH, YOGA, HOLISTIC THERAPIES, A MONTHLY TEA DANCE FOR OUR SENIOR CITIZENS, FACILITIATION AND TRAINING IN THE ARTS,INCLUDING DRAMA PRODUCTIONS

& DRAMA THERAPY, MUSIC (COMMUNITY CHOIR), COMMUNITY EVENTS,COMMUNITY CARNIVAL,WALK OF HOPE, CHRISTMAS NATIVITY PARADE, WE PROVIDE A 3 COURSE LUNCH FOR ANYONE WHO WISHES FOR WHATEVER REASON TO JOIN US ON CHRISTMAS DAY, WITH OTHER RECREATION ACTIVITIES FROM TIME TO TIME TO ADVANCE AND PROMOTE THE INTEGRATION,WELFARE AND WELLBEING OF OUR WHOLE COMMUNTY.

Charitable purposes

3. Objects The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following:- To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Cookstown area, the wider Mid-Ulster area, or any such area as the committees may from time to time decide (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by associating with the statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to: (a) promote community development by providing facilities, support and information for community and voluntary groups and organisations and encouraging and assisting such organisations to co-operate to achieve their aims; (b) provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations , particularly but not exclusively arts activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said residents; (c)relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability or other disadvantage; (d) advance education, training, the arts and culture; (e) promote participation in healthy recreation; (f) promote good community relations and social cohesion, racial harmony and equality and diversity. 3.1 To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
