The direct benefits flowing from our purpose “promote and encourage interest in the amateur sport of football. Participation in the sport of Football, hereinafter referred to as the ‘sport’” by encouraging participation in sporting and recreational activities; providing members with suitable competition; assisting members to improve their personal

sporting standards; organising football locally and providing equal opportunities for successful participation by all sections of the community. To promote the participation of the community in healthy recreational activities linked to sport specifically football. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose includes improvement in physical and emotional health and well-being as a result of participation in football and other recreational football. This includes raised esteem and confidence, improved aerobic capacity and development of physical skills. How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated? Benefits identified are demonstrated through the evaluation of our activities, programmes and services through players, club and AGM meetings and with other stakeholders. This includes gathering feedback via a range of means such as 1-2-1 interviews, group discussions or focus groups, comment cards, surveys and questionnaires around the benefits of activity provided. We also monitor participant numbers within sessions, growth in membership, retention into other programmes etc. to further reference the value and impact of our provision and to develop beneficial future services. Our purposes do not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of our purposes are those predominantly living in the District Electoral areas of Portadown, Cusher and Craigavon, but also from across a wider catchment in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. The private benefit for our members is that they are gaining a healthy and active lifestyles together with social inclusion across club activity.

What your organisation does

Established in 1962, Bourneview Mill FC provide community, recreational and sporting activity in Portadown. Volunteers run the club activities while maintaining facilities for community, social and sporting use. On a weekly basis, with the support of volunteers we enable people to participate in community and recreational activities. Bourneview

Mill Football Club provide Amateur Sport (football) for people in the wider Portadown area. Two senior teams play in the Amateur Mid Ulster Football League. Teams train twice a week with qualified coaches and play matches on Saturdays and occasionally mid-week games in spring and summer. Our premier senior team play in the 4th tier of Northern Ireland football i.e. Intermediate A Mid Ulster Football League and the Reserves Development Squad play in the Mid Ulster Football League Reserve Division Two. Bourneview Mill FC currently use Pepperton Park, Tandragee Road in Portadown to provide sport and leisure activities for the residents of Portadown and the wider district council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. The club facilitate community activities, training and workshops, functions and community events. We are a cross community club, drawing members and participants from all communities and religious and political backgrounds. Through football related activities, we aim to teach values such as fair play, sportsmanship, commitment and discipline as well as the core sporting skills. Sport and physical activity are important and can lead to a healthy lifestyle. We aim to combat social exclusion, deprivation and inequality among young people in the community. While retaining our focus on football, we aim to have a wide-reaching benefit for a wide range of charitable needs.

Charitable purposes

The object of Bourneview Mill Football Club is to promote and encourage interest in the amateur sport of football. In furtherance of this purpose Bourneview Mill Football Club will: a. Organise recreational facilities for the provision of training and playing facilities for its members. b. Facilitate participation in the sport of football. c. Organise and administer membership of appropriate leagues for the purpose of establishing regular competitive amateur play for the club's representative teams. d. Promote and maintain the highest standards of technical competence and safety in amateur sport. e. uphold the rules and ethos of amateur sport. f. Provide equal opportunities for successful participation by all section of the community. g. Provide opportunities for community development and community action. h. provide community facilities for groups and charitable organisations.
