Public benefits

The benefits which flow from the purpose include improved social inclusion and community wellbeing as attendees engage with others and form social networks. Also, opportunities are given for local residents to voice concerns and raise issues with public and statutory agencies which enables and empowers local residents to be involved in the

continued improvement of the local environs. These benefits will be evidenced through recording attendance figures and feedback received via social media, word of mouth, annual surveys and at committee and event planning meetings. Feedback is always positive and can include new suggestions as well as offers to become involved in planning and delivery of events, indicating the success of events. Positive feedback, statistics and the effective resolution of community issues evidences the benefit of enabling local residents to be involved in raising issues with external agencies. The purpose of our charity may lead to harm for attendees at events incurring injury, but annual attendance records demonstrate that this does not negatively impact on the success of the event for residents. Moreover, policies, practices and training for the delivery of events employed by Drumbeg Community Association mitigates risks and thus the risk of harm does not outweigh the benefits. Local residents, stall holders, activity providers, voluntary, public and statutory agencies and community groups. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that those organisations taking part in events may receive an increased public profile and customer/client base. However, this is incidental and necessary to the success of the events and allows greater awareness of available resources and facilities among local residents.

What your organisation does

The Committee organises community events for community development, for example, Carols Round the Tree at Christmas, Summer Fair In September, various coffee mornings throughout the year and a Senior Citizens Outing. Regular meetings are held to discuss and address any local concerns.
