As a result of our activity, children from the polish community have an access to acknowledge about the country of their origin, they can speak and understand the language of their ancestors, they are aware of polish history, culture, art and traditions and they can share all of it with their friends from the other communities. They are
bilingual-they can speak naturally more than one language. This also affects their parents and other members of their families or close friends. Our projects give members of polish community some opportunities to participate in our activity-by voluntary work for the school, as the events co-operators, participating in our thematic workshops and lectures. To evidence our activity we do run lists of our pupils, teachers, volunteers an members of the organisation. We do accept and store application forms fullfilled by the parents or guardians. The principal is authorized to communicate with the parent by letters or e-mails. As a company limited we are obliged to provide annual financial reports for the Companies House, this report is also presented by the board to the members of Polish Language, Culture and Affairs. At the end of the school year each pupil receives a certificate proving accomplishment of the cours. Also volunteers are granted certificates confirming their work for the organisation (approved by Volunteer Now). Polish community living in Northern Ireland No harm. Polish community. No private benefit from the purposes.

POLCA (Polish Language, Culture, and Affairs) was created to support the Polish community in Northern Ireland in the fields of education, health, leisure, and community development to facilitate their integration and wellbeing. The Polish Saturday school is our main project. This school is to provide an additional education for childlren from
polish, polish-irish, polish-british or other families. We do teach them polish language (speaking, reading and writing), polish history, culture and other matters related to our home land. The other purpose of our Saturday school is to promote bilingualism-ability to use more than one language. In addition to our usual activity, we do run a number of events during the school year, among the most important are: – Bilingual Belfast -an open event promoting bilingualism among the community – Poetry tournament- poetic recitation competition for our pupils – Polish Independence Day – Sports Day- an event for children and parents We also cooperate with the Harding Memorial Primary school by preparing join workshops for the Harding Memorial Primary pupils. We are planning to cooperate in the future with other organisations or youth clubs. Our other project is Helping hand – support group for women from polish community, victims of domestic violence. This group was founded by POLCA- currently works independently.
