Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and additional funding and support through a PTA committee that is for the enhancement of learning resources for the school and to build links with the local community. The benefits are demonstrated through the pupils

academic and extracurricular achievements. Moira Primary's PTA provides support for students through fundraising events, which allows our students to excel academically, by providing educational resources and funds for school trips which broaden their education. The benefits are also demonstrated through the PTA's working in partnership with the school to engage parental and community support. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. Our fundraising activities have already funded many aspects of school life, from football and sports equipment, to Accelerated Reading books, and SMART screens for classrooms as well as supporting many community related charities by making fundraising donations to Angels Wishes, Bernardo’s, Children in Need, Action for Cancer, and the Moira Food Bank. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The benefit is for the children of Moira Primary school. All children within the school benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. There is no private benefit arising from the purposes however Charity Trustees (PTA committee members) are carers/parents/teachers/staff at the school who may receive necessary and incidental benefits in the form of extra resources for the school etc.

What your organisation does

Moira Primary School PTA encourages parents/carers, teachers and staff to get involved with the school through volunteering opportunities. Volunteers are an asset to the school by providing greater opportunities for the pupils to have access to resources such as school trips, or support in the classroom and by providing practical support in the

grounds or office. They also help to staff book drives and student discos. Each year Moira Primary School's PTA profits from fundraising events enable us to buy much needed resources for the school. Events such as: a local Quiz Night, Fashion Shows, and a Summer Fete not only help fund sports equipment and SMART boards, but also improve communication and establish links between the school and the wider community.
