Public benefits
Ballynure and District Community Association believes that the direct public benefits which flow from our purpose are to make Ballynure and welcoming place to live; to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of residents from the area; to reduce feelings of social isolation and marginalisation; to allow people to participate in a range of
activities; to improve skills and capacity within the group and to preserve the environment and local heritage for future generations. These benefits are delivered through our community outreach programme of free family events, festivals, health and environmental awareness raising and membership of the local Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. BDCA engages with local agencies including Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, NI Executive Government Departments, Policing and Community Safety Partnerships and PSNI in addressing issues around local concerns such as health, the environment, housing, roads, accessibility to land and crime. These benefits can be demonstrated by: our participants provide feedback on the benefits to them though our social media presence, verbal feedback and our attendance figures. This feedback is used to help us further improve the variety of events and the social interaction for those living in and visiting the rural area of Ballynure village and the surrounding district. The beneficiaries are primarily the residents and businesses of Ballynure and District, but also visitors attending village events from outside the area. There is a wider benefit to those who come to the village specifically to participate in our events, providing outreach and education about the local area which raises the profile of Ballynure village and the surrounding area. BDCA promotes equality of opportunity without distinction of any S75 groups. There is no harm relating to any of these benefits and there is no private benefit.
