Fountain Street Community Development Association aims to create a better and inclusive community through empowering individuals and groups regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race , marital status, religious belief, political opinion or regardless if individuals have a disability or dependants. Fountain Street CDA want to increase

capacity and skills of local residents and local groups so that they will be better placed to identify their needs, and play a fuller part in contributing to the wellbeing of an inclusive community. Fountain Street CDA are committed to working in partnership with other voluntary and statutory agencies in a common effort to relieve poverty and deprivation, to advance training and educational opportunities, to preserve, protect and promote health and wellbeing and to promote social and recreational conditions with the overall objective of improving the quality of life for local residents. The benefits can be demonstrated in several ways 1) Pre and post evaluations on activity programmes 2) Reviews on our Social Media platforms 3) Informal discussions with centre users and local people 4) Feedback from external services and organisations There is no harm flowing from any of our purposes. The beneficiaries of our charity include local residents and residents from the Strabane District areas such as Sion Mills, Victoria Bridge, Ballycolman, Lisnafin, Derry and cross border citizens from Lifford, Letterkenny and Raphoe. Our organisation offers a wide range of programmes and activities to suit people of all ages including; Children 0-5, Young people 5 – 18, Parents, including lone-parents, Families Young Adults, Older residents. The Charity's beneficiaries are the residents living within the East ward of the Strabane DEA. This particular part of the town is a Neighbourhood Renewal Area which according to the most recent Noble Measures of Deprivation is the number 1 area of deprivation in the whole of Northern Ireland. Yes. Occasionally, there are incidental benefits that flow from our purposes. For example; our community bingos depend on prize donations from various business's from within the district. These donators are acknowledged during our bingo, in local press and on our social media platforms. When promoting our Health & Well Being programmes and our other activities we mention the names of key facilitators as without them we could not run the programmes thus local participants would not benefit. We also acknowledge key funders when we are promoting our activities on Social Media.

What your organisation does

The Organisation engages with the Strabane Neighbourhood Partnership and other local providers to agree priority interventions and develop/deliver programmes within their area of service delivery. FSCDA will continue to build on existing partnerships, using a multi agency /disciplinary approach in order to meet the multiple needs of the residents

living in this particular neighbourhood renewal area. To date FSCDA has met with 40 external agencies and services in order to meet this aim. Our objectives are clearly set out with the following the activities are as follows Community Bonding Projects - Weekly Music Classes, Weekly Dance Classes, Messy Play Events, Community Fun Days, Seasonal Bingos, Seasonal Youth Camps, Kids Confidence Bootcamp, Annual Seniors Dinner,Community day Trips, Seasonal Family Events E.g- Christmas grotto, Halloween Burn Walk, Easter Fayre. Volunteer Programme - we currently have 40 volunteers ,2 of whom are disabled, who are involved with various projects that we run. Formal & Informal Training Qualifications- with our interactive digital suite we offer a various training qualifications, in addition we can offer affordable childcare places to parents through our on-site Sure Start facilities. Advice NI also deliver a weekly outreach service in our centre, this offers advice and guidance to local residents and people living within the local outer area on benefits, Welfare Reform, Housing etc. Our 2 Social Enterprise Projects , New2U Charity Shop- enables local people to secure affordable clothing and household items. This shop relies soley on public donations and volunteers. Our Fountain of Fun Party facilitation Project allows parents and families on low incomes.. affordable venue and party hire. Our Healthy Lifestyle projects include, Men & Womens Yoga, Mindfulness, young mothers fitness programme, Kids Confidence bootcamps, Couch to 5k programme, Mens Health Programme, outdoor Environmental project.

Charitable purposes

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Fountain Street and District area of Strabane and its environs( the area of benefit) without distinction of sex, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to relieve, sickness and distress, to relieve the disabled, to advance education, to preserve and protect health and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
