Public benefits
Children and young people in Uganda who otherwise would not, receive education or improved education that in turn enables them to have better employment prospects and so be more able to provide for themselves and their families in the future and avoid poverty. Underprivileged children in particular receive an education that they probably would not
otherwise have been able to afford. Over the longer term it should be possible to show that specific children who received an education through YOU funding have improved employment and reduced poverty when compared to children who did not have such an opportunity. For now we rely on the general acceptance that education leads to better life prospects and reduced poverty. Independent evidence is provided through reviews from organisations such as the Education Partnerships Group who provided a report in 2018 titled "A review of Uganda's Universal Education Public Private Partnership programme. Whilst we have no relationship with either EPG or the Uganda PPP programme we offer the review as confirmation that education plays a major role in helping young Ugandans have better life choices and the opportunity to break free from poverty. No harm arises from our activities that we are aware of or can foresee. Children and young people in Uganda There will be some private benefit to some individuals within Uganda in that as more children are educated in schools then more teaching staff are employed but this is incidental and necessary to the purpose.

YOU raises funds to pay for education for children and youth in Uganda and to provide help and support to young people living within the 'slum' areas of Kampala and similar areas of poverty within Uganda by purchasing, collecting, transporting and distributing items of clothing and personal care. We work with local organisations on the ground in
Uganda to achieve these objectives.
