Public benefits

In line with the Charities Act and the statutory public benefits requirements FOSPA states its purpose for the public benefit. The public benefit of this group is to support a range of activities and fundraisers to enhance and support the education and extra-circular provision at St Patrick’s Primary School, Aghacommon. The direct benefits flowing

from FOSPA will be to the children of the school primarily and also the wider Aghacommon community where activities from FOSPA bring the community together. The funds raised at the activities will directly benefit the school and the children and benefits to date have been the funding the schools Literacy Programme, the purchase of a technical sound system for the school, playground equipment and reading books. The children have benefited positively from this. The group will conduct a feedback survey on an annual basis with parents to get feedback on the benefit of the group and for input on future activities that will help benefit the children of the school. It is not anticipated that any harms arise from the activities of FOSPA, in order to safeguard against this FOSPA conducts a risk assessment for every event it arranges to ensure that the benefit outweighs the risk. The main beneficiaries of FOSPA are the children of the school and it not anticipated to be any other known private benefits either incidental and/or necessary. What your organisation does

Our organisation consists of a number of parent volunteers who meet on a monthly basis to discuss, agree and implement activities/events which support additional resources for St Patricks Primary School, Aghacommon which enhances the overall experience and education of the children. In addition to the activities the group also provides financial

support to the school through fundraising events within the school and local community.

Charitable purposes

The group shall be known as FRIENDS OF ST PATRICKS AGHACOMMON, the purpose of which shall be to advance the education of pupils by developing effective relationships with all stakeholders and engaging in activities to support the school and its pupils.
