preserving the listed building St Columb’s Hall in the City and other buildings in the City of architectural and historical interest including protecting the cultural value ofour heritage buildings for generations to come and providing learning and educational opportunities for the community and the public. The direct benefits which flow from the organisation’s purpose at 3.1.2. include delivery of social amenities enhancing accessibility to cultural activities for people from areas of social deprivation leading to improved health outcomes and reduced levels of stressand anxiety and improved community cohesion and improved mental health outcomes. The direct benefits which flow from the organisation’s purpose at 3.1.3. include the provision of training facilities and in particular in the appreciation and practice of the arts and creativity including music, film, cinema, dance, drama, literature and performing,participatory and visual arts and increased opportunities for cultural expression, positive mental health benefits and reduced levels of social isolation. The direct benefits which flow from the organisation’s purpose at 3.1.4. include improved community cohesion, stronger, empathetic and resilient communities and learning and educational opportunities. These benefits can be demonstrated by monitoring including registration data, outcomes tracking and profiling information from tenants and citizens. There is no harm arising from the organisation’s purposes. The organisation’s beneficiaries are: General Public, Children (5-12), Young People (13-25), Older People (Over 55's) Private benefit: St Columb's Hall Trust holds a long term 30 year lease with the private company who own the building. This is necessary for us to utilise the space and is incidental.

What your organisation does

St Columb's Hall Trust protects and preserves a key heritage asset, St Columb's Hall and provides cultural spaces for our current and future citizens to improve their quality of life through music classes, concerts, film screening, workshops, meetings and debates. It helps to promote cultural education, creative therapy and the promotion of good

community relations by bringing together a variety of groups into one central hub. St Columb's Hall Trust is focused on the restoration of a Grade A Listed Building, St Columb's Hall and in providing cultural facilities within the Hall. These facilities focus on improving the quality of life issues facing our current and future citizens; empowering participation; improved mental health and promoting active citizenship. These facilities include iconic live music venue, series of meeting and rehearsal spaces and cinema space.

Charitable purposes

3.1 The Charity’s Objects are specifically restricted to the following: 3.1.1. to advance arts, culture and heritage in the City of Londonderry (“the City”) by: 3.1.1.1 establishing and managing cultural and social amenities and facilities; 3.1.1.2. organising, promoting and presenting entertainment including concerts, performances and events; 3.1.1.3 providing community and arts programmes to meet the needs of the whole community; 3.1.1.4 protecting, maintaining, repairing and preserving St Columb’s Hall in the City and other buildings in the the City of architectural and historical interest. 3.1.2. To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of members of the public. 3.1.3 To advance education by the provision of training facilities and in particular in the appreciation and practice of the arts and creativity including music, film, cinema, dance, drama, literature and performing, participatory and visual arts. 3.1.4. To advance human rights and reconciliation through the advancement of peace and good community relations. Nothing in the articles shall authorise an application of the property of the Charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with s.2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
