Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from our purposes include instilling civic pride in the residents through reducing antisocial behaviour by involving young people in having a say on the matters relevant to their community. These benefits can be demonstrated by the setting up of a youth drop-in service and after schools provision in the area.

Furthermore, direct benefits include helping every person advance their education either academically, through arts or through providing training opportunities for local residents. These benefits can be demonstrated by the creation of a woman’s group, a girls group, parent and toddler group and arts and crafts classes to further these goals. Lastly, direct benefits flowing from our purposes include helping to integrate all sections of the community in a friendly, joyful and neighbourly way. This includes undertaking physical activity classes as well as informal social opportunities for underrepresented groups such as older people and woman. These benefits can be demonstrated by feedback from the local community by either telephone call, feedback forms or suggestion boxes. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The beneficiaries of Benview Community Centre are the local residents of the Ballysillan and surrounding areas. This includes children and young people, parents, women and older people. There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes.
