The direct benefits that flow from the organisations purposes are that immigrants enjoy an increased experience of respect, inclusion and welcome; they gain in confidence in dealing with statutory agencies; they improve their ability to access the equal opportunities inherent in statutory entitlements; they contribute to a reduction in incidences

of discrimination and race violations; there is a reduction in incidences of social isolation and an increased ability to interact in English; they experience increased connection between themselves and the settled community; The benefits can be identified by counting the numbers who avail of services; by counting the numbers for repeat business; by doing a needs analysis; by sociological survey; by asking directly in interview if we have made a difference. There is no harm arising from any of the organisations purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are immigrants who are settling into Craigavon and the wider region of Northern Ireland. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the organisations purposes.

What your organisation does

Migrant Support Service carries out its purpose by: - providing information. advice and advocacy that will enable migrants to avail of equal opportunities in securing basic rights such as access to employment and health services, social welfare, housing, education and religious ceremonies; by fostering an experience of recognition and respect for

diversity and equality for all and each in the community; - providing immigration and legal advice such as helping with application for settlement status and other immigration issues; and by providing a remedy for and reduction in incidences of discrimination and race violations. - teaching English classes that will: enable speakers of other languages to integrate into the local community; reduce the occurrence of social isolation; build community among people of different ethnic groups; maintain a teaching/learning system for other cultural and social issues that arise; and provide a context for staging intercultural events and celebrations; - cooperating with National Consular bodies to facilitate access to National Consular services
