Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from the organisations purposes are: - Local community has an increased knowledge of and pride in local heritage - Greater social cohesion in the community through the inclusion of newcomers, older people, youth and handicapped people in our activities. - Recognition of and respect for local heritage sites - Individuals

in our committee and community are empowered to improve their skills eg organisational, communication, safeguarding etc - Local young people and others are given a platform to to develop their talents, knowledge etc The benefits identified can be demonstrated through: - Good attendances at the annual festival, displays and other activities which we organise - Feedback from annual questionnaires and from anecdotal evidence - A ready supply of volunteers of all ages who give up their time to facilitate our activities - Requests from the local primary school to provide talks for the children - Voluntary donations from the local community There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are the local community in the wider Blackrock, Cranfield, Creggan and Staffordstown area. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

Producing public artwork to celebrate local heritage Planning and promoting heritage projects such as a community garden and to based around an iconic local stone cross and restoring an ancient well Organising community social events eg old peoples Christmas Party, community nights on the theme of local history/ heritage

Charitable purposes

To preserve and promote local heritage and cultural traditions in a positive and inclusive manner To encourage young people to take an interest in traditional music, dance, local history, language and traditions To strengthen the sense of belonging and community in the area To organise events which which provide an opportunity for the local people to meet and enjoy each other's company
